What a fabulous weekend we had in Rossland (8 of us went)! The drive over was a bit snowy but that just meant that we had lots of snow to play with! We xc skied at Black Jack on Friday – nice to check out new trails and see where world class athletes train. On Saturday, a gloriously sunny Bluebird day, we snowboarded at Red Mountain. What a treat … the snowboard legs were still working and the runs were perfect. Richard, Tom, Graham and myself really enjoyed our day on the mountain!
Today, on our way home, we stopped a few times to check out Nancy Greene trails and lake, then xc skied at the Paulson trails (Castlegar Nordic Club) – classic this time (I usually only skate ski). Again we got to enjoy bright sunshine. Inbetween all this: coffees, dinners, shopping, laughs and some down time. Rossland is a wonderful little town, and we will certainly be back in the summer to check out the hiking and cycling around there. I am particularly interested in trail running part of the Seven Summit trail!
