We spent all day on Sunday in Oliver, BC, officiating at the Desert Half Ironman. The conditions were perfect for racing, not too hot, almost no wind and dry roads. However, spending a full day from 6am (leaving Kelowna at 5am) until 3pm standing and walking seems to be more exhausting than racing 🙂 I worked mostly in transition, ensuring that the triathlon rules such as buckled-up helmets were followed by the athletes – lots of standing, talking, walking. Today, two days later, I am starting to feel normal again, having caught up on sleeping and resting.
Even though a few athletes had to drop out of the race for various reasons, it was a success!
