It seems like summer has come and gone so quickly this year! Last I checked, I was preparing for Ironman Austria, and now it is already the end of September. We have been lucky to have had a gorgeous August and September, with the temperatures still in the high 20’s and low 30’s. I can’t even remember the last time it rained …
My last race of the season went well last Saturday in Grand Coulee (half iron). One of my favorite events, the Grand Columbian was all I expected again. Gorgeous scenery, well organized, a great end of the 2012 racing season. I was very happily surprised to come in 2nd overall in the race and have been taking it easy in the week since (letting my legs recover). Some pictures are online here.
We have been hiking and cycling, enjoying time with friends. When the last event of the season (an open water swim) is done, I can’t wait for the snow to come – hopefully early and plentiful. How quickly the seasons come and go.
