Fresh online: All the pictures from our trip to Kauai! It was another great trip to Hawaii, and a new experience on this smaller island. We kept busy with hiking, exploring, eating and swimming. One of the highlights were the many waterfalls we got to enjoy, and one particularly gorgeous setting kept us busy for…Read details
It’s kinda sad that the 2012 hiking season seems to be over. Not that it’s snowing yet but it’s been wet and ugly, and the views from the peaks are probably less than impressive right now. But we have been out every weekend for shorter local hikes, which has been spectacular given the fall colors…Read details
It seems like summer has come and gone so quickly this year! Last I checked, I was preparing for Ironman Austria, and now it is already the end of September. We have been lucky to have had a gorgeous August and September, with the temperatures still in the high 20’s and low 30’s. I can’t…Read details

I am not lying when I say that every weekend of the summer is fully planned out! It started with the race in Boise and the trip to Europe for Ironman Austria. Then the 2012 edition of the Across The Lake Swim came and went, with another successful event in the books now. During the…Read details

First of all, thank you to everybody who has supported me in my training, has sent me off with well wishes and was following my race online or in spirit! I was thinking about you during the race and am lucky to have such great friends!

Even though it was hazy we could see the high alpine peaks in the distance.Read details
Too much time has gone by since my last post. I’m not really sure what happened … “busy” can’t always be an excuse. The end of the semester (March/April) was busy with grading and teaching. After a bit of a “breather” towards the end of April I am now teaching 4 online courses (2 for…Read details
What a weekend! It really doesn’t get any better in terms of company, activities, weather and fun! 5 of us, girls that is, hit the road and stayed in Winthrop for the weekend to explore the ski trails that I always rave about. We had cloudless skies the whole weekend, skied for hours each day…Read details
Our second annual ski weekend saw us staying at Sun Peaks, BC, for 4 days. What a blast! We were renting a house that turned out to be super-nice (5 bedrooms, 4 baths, huge kitchen), super-convenient (right on the downhill and xc ski trails) and wonderful to relax in. We skied the xc ski trails…Read details
